About us

Sidney & Hacking Plumbing was founded in 1903 by Norman Sidney and Charles Hacking. Handed down the Sidney family from father to son, the business is currently owned by Andrew Sidney, great grandson of Norman. We are a local family-run business with Andrew's son Taylor, a trade certified plumber, representing the fifth generation. To this day, traditional values, like exceptional customer service and quality workmanship, are an essential part of our operation.
Our 24-hour emergency plumbing call-out and same day service have gained us a reputation for trustworthiness and reliability. We employ qualified plumbers to tackle all types of plumbing work from servicing hot water units, unblocking drains and cleaning sewers, to installing and repairing roofs and gutters. Our plumbers are also approved to test and certify backflow and thermostatic mixing valves and specialist plumbing installations.
Established primarily as a plumbing business, we have evolved to incorporate metal and stainless steel fabrication works. At our state-of-the-art, fully equipped metal workshop in Lismore, we manufacture a wide range of items. From outdoor BBQ areas, to commercial and domestic kitchens, our talented stainless steel and sheet metal workers can deliver any number of products custom-made to your exact requirements. We handle large-scale jobs like metal ducting, staircases and commercial kitchens to smaller bespoke work like decorative balustrades and kitchenettes.
In the Northern Rivers region Sidney & Hacking Plumbing is synonymous with quality. Some of the prestigious local projects we have been involved with include the restorations of Presentation House and Lions water fountain as well as Trinity Catholic College trade and hospitality kitchen, among others. We look after our customers and they come back to us because of the outstanding services we provide.
